I was visiting my cousins in Minnesota one summer when I found myself home alone at my cousin’s house. They had left earlier for work and told me that if I was bored, I should reach out to my other cousin and ask him to come and pick me up.
After a couple of hours of being alone in the house, I started to have this weird vibe: something else was in the house with me. Whatever it was, it didn’t like me and wanted me to leave. Trying not to freak myself out, I decided to ignore my gut feeling and continued playing video games on my laptop.
I’ve isolated myself in my cousin’s room with the door closed but not locked. I was playing video game on my cousin’s bed with my back facing the door.
After finishing a game, I needed to use the restroom and noticed the door was wide open, sending chills down my spine.
I paused momentarily, trying to make sense of everything, and convinced myself that perhaps I didn’t close the door all the way, and the air conditioner probably slowly blew the door open.
While in the bathroom, due to the uneasy feeling, I decided to leave the door open so I could run out in case a ghost wanted to pop out and scare me.
As I was taking a leak, I felt a strong entity standing right by the door, looking directly at me. Whatever it was, it was trying to scare me, and it was working. I got out of the bathroom, went back into the room, locked the door, and messaged one of my cousins on Facebook for him to come and get me out of this house (I didn’t tell him about the ghost part).
He informed me that he was on his way and would be there in a couple of minutes. Knowing that he was on his way, I felt a lot better and decided to leave the room and head back into the bathroom to get myself ready.
During this time, I decided to webcam one of my friends because I was scared and needed someone to help me pass the time until my cousin arrived.
As I was getting ready and we were joking about the situation, we both heard a loud knocking on one of the windows and then, a few seconds later, knocking on the front door. It was a relief sign because I knew my cousin was here to save the day! I told her to hold on as I quickly approached the front door to open it.
Upon opening the door, there was no one there. I was like, “What the fuck…” slammed the door close and ran back into the bathroom to grab my laptop and then back into the room. Words couldn’t express how scared I was as my friend tried to comfort me. My paranoia was now at full alert, and every little sound within the house was now ghost-related in my head.
As I was dealing with a life-and-death situation, my cousin finally showed up twenty minutes later! The crazy part about his arrival was that he knocked on the same window and then knocked at the front door, exactly like I heard the first time. I didn’t dare open the door until I heard his voice calling for me to come out. I ran out of the room as fast as possible to open the door and refused to return inside the house.
I made my cousin go inside the house to grab the rest of my belongings since I didn’t want to spend another day there. My cousin was a little spook, too, because he made me wait by the front door as he gathered my stuff.
Afterward, I told my cousins who lived at the house what happened, and they said to me that they were aware of ghosts in the house, but the ghosts never bothered them. They’ve seen plenty of paranormal activity in the house and are used to it now.
